We wanted to put together this quick retrospect to take a look at some of the things we’ve accomplished and use it as testament of what to expect from us in the future.
Our founder and Navy Veteran Wendell Goodwin found Sea Shield Marine by solving the problems of poor-quality anodes being used on yachts. Working as a service diver Wendell noticed that the anodes kept coming loose and/or passivating. His solution was to introduce MIL-SPEC Quality Standards to anodes used on pleasure crafts.
All Sea Shield Marine Zinc Anodes and Aluminum Anodes are made in the USA at our ISO 9001:2008 Certified Facility. We alloy all our metal to the highest MIL-SPEC Standards (ZINC: MIL-A-18001 , ALUMINUM MIL-A-24779) and run a tight Quality Control program at our in-house metallurgic lab.We use unique pressure die casting and finishing methods to give our products higher density, even burning, and that extra shine – it’s quality that you can see.
One of our first and most notable achievements in design and engineering was the invention of the Divers Dream Plate. Our design has gone on to become one the most popular anodes used on everything and everywhere cathodic protection is needed.
We were first to create User-friendly Shaft Zincs with tighter tolerances, deep-slotted screws for higher efficiency, and easy size verification inside and outside. Sea Shield Marine Shaft Anodes have went on to become some of our most ordered products.
We invented the first Slotted Design Teardrop Anodes for fitting multiple bolt patterns.
We Created the multi-pattern Max Prop Anode with an aluminum insert.
Our Mercury Quick-Change Anodes have become the divers choice when it comes to time to change out Mercury Mercruiser Zincs. They are the easiest to install and most efficient zinc anodes for Mercruiser Alpha and Bravo Sterndrive hydraulic rams, our revolutionary design doubles the life of the anode while cutting installation to a fraction of the time.
We recently introduced the World to the SALCA(Sacrificial Anode Line-Cutter Assembly) the first device to combine a zinc anode and propeller shaft line-cutter to provide vessels with dual protection against corrosion and entanglement.
